Postdoctoral Researcher Positions
Position Overview
Dr. Haofei Wang’s laboratory at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, opening in January 2027, is recruiting one full-time postdoctoral researcher.
Postdoctoral fellows will conduct research in cardiovascular development, functional genomics, single-cell and spatial technologies, and congenital heart disease.
As a newly established laboratory, we provide opportunities for postdoctoral researchers to take leadership and ownership of projects, receive close mentorship, develop new experimental and computational platforms, and help shape the lab’s scientific directions.
The Wang Lab also welcomes inquiries from prospective PhD students and research technicians.
Research Directions
- Regulatory mechanisms of cardiomyocyte maturation
- Spatial organization and cell-cell communication in the developing heart
- Functional interpretation of congenital heart disease genes and variants
- Direct cardiac reprogramming and heart regeneration
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in cardiovascular biology, developmental biology, genetics and genomics, molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field before the start date.
- Experience in developmental biology, stem-cell biology, cardiovascular biology, genomics, genome editing, functional genomics, organoid models, or mouse genetics is preferred.
- Experience with CRISPR technologies, high-throughput genetic screening, chromatin biology, multi-omics, AAV-based approaches, or human disease modeling is a plus.
